Losing weight is a battle of the mind. No matter which diet plans for weight loss youve tried, if you are still struggling with shedding pounds, it could have more to do with the way you are mentally approaching your goals. Our bodies are directly dictated by what our mind tells us to do. If you are in the habit of cheating on your diet time and time again, you may have created a barrier that will ultimately sabotage your diet efforts.
Top 5 Reasons Why Your Diet Program Isnt Working
1.Not Paying Attention
This may seem pretty general, but far too often the reason that we cant seem to lose weight and keep it off is because we just dont pay enough attention to what we are putting into our body. The majority of our calorie intake should be coming from foods that are found in nature. Fruits, raw nuts, veggies, and unprocessed meats are where you are going to get the most bang for your calorie buck.
Are you spending too much time worrying about unimportant details like should you or shouldnt you be snacking, should you eat every 4 hours, or should you not eat past 5 pm? You should be paying close attention to what food you are eating, not so much when.
2.Overeating Empty Calories
This is another very common occurrence. In America, our portion sizes are so far out of the realm of normal that we may not know how much we should really be eating at each sitting. Our grandparents ate much less than we do today; even their cup sizes and plate sizes were significantly smaller. So if you feel like you may be overeating with empty calories or just overeating in general, reduce your portions in half for 7 days. If hunger strikes, reach for a healthy snack like organic peanut butter and a green apple.
3.Not Recognizing Dehydration
We all know that drinking water is great for your body and keeps it functioning like it should, but what most of us dont know is that dehydration can actually add to weight gain. Mistaking thirst for hunger can leave you grazing on snacks and empty calories all day long. If you are not drinking half your body weight in ounces of water a day, then those hunger pangs you often feel may just be a need for a big glass of water.
4.Not Moving Enough
Exercise is the key in your weight loss goals, and while we always read that getting even exercise will help you to lose those unwanted pounds, some of us dont actually put that into daily practice. If you want to lose weight, you have to exercise.
5.Make the Time
No one has time these days, but dont let busyness rob you of a healthy body and healthy weight. If you make exercise and diet a priority, you will not only be able to rock a swimsuit with confidence, but you can actually add years to your lifespan. So while you think you may not have time, making your health a priority is one of the most important things you can do.
Losing weight is a combination of exercise and time management, not the unending search for one of the next diet plans for weight loss that claim to really work

QUESTION:
Healthy Weight Loss Diet Plans For Seniors?
I am helping my mom with her diet, but she is worried that many diets are just not going to be healthy for her. Does anyone know of a diet plan that includes daily meal plans that she can start on that is both healthy and not just a fad?-
ANSWER:
Many people struggle hard to reduce their weights. Right now, there a lot of programs created to help such people in their respective weight loss endeavor. And to help them fully, here are some important weight loss tips beginners should follow to make sure their chosen program work for them flawlessly:1. Make sure that you reduce the quantity of your food.
In order to lose weight, you have to watch your meal servings. And it won't matter if you're at home or dining out. But you have to be most especially watchful when eating inside restaurants. You might order big chunks of meat because of the juicy ad you see in the menu. The rule of thumb is this: eat just enough to address your hunger. Never stuff yourself with food.2. Exercise is key.
Exercise causes the body to burn fats. And no diet works without the help of a good exercise regime. All weight loss tips appearing in health magazines and over the internet will tell you that regular exercise could help you a lot in reducing your body mass index. A handful of people can't be wrong. So don’t skip an exercise routine at the gym.

QUESTION:
i AM A STUDENT WANTING INFORMATION RE: BREASTFEEDING/COMMERCIAL DIET PLANS/WEIGHT LOSS FOR THIS TYPE OF CLIENT
cAN i FIND THIS INFORMATION ON THE JENNYCRAIG/WEIGHT WATCHERS WEBSITE. i HAVE TRIED BUT HAVE NOT FOUND DIET PLANS FOR THE BREASTFEEDING MOTHER.-
ANSWER:
Weight Loss While Breast-Feeding
Moderate Weight Loss OK for Overweight Moms Who Breast FeedOverweight mothers who breast feed their infants may lose weight through a sensible diet and exercise program - without fear of harming their infants - a study by NICHD-funded researchers has found.
"Being overweight may cause serious health problems," said NICHD Director Duane Alexander, M.D. "This study shows that it's safe for overweight women to begin a sensible weight loss program without posing a risk to their infants."
Dr. Lovelady explained that weight gained during pregnancy might contribute to obesity later in life. Losing this extra weight soon after pregnancy may help many women to avoid later obesity and its long-term health effects. An Institute of Medicine report earlier had concluded that overweight breast-feeding women could probably lose about 2 kg (4.4 pounds) per month without affecting their production of milk. However, Dr. Lovelady pointed out, no studies existed to prove whether this assumption was true.
Dr. Lovelady stressed that a woman who is breast feeding should first consult her physician and nutritionist before undertaking any weight loss program. She added that breast-feeding women should not attempt to lose weight if they are only a few pounds overweight.
"Breast-feeding mothers who are only 5 pounds overweight shouldn't try to lose weight," she said. Unless a woman has sufficient fat reserves, dieting may hinder milk production and also cause the woman to feel fatigued.
"In conclusion," the authors wrote, "a program of moderate exercise and energy restriction was successful in inducing weight loss in overweight, lactating mothers without harming the growth of their infants in the early postpartum period."
The study builds upon the findings of an earlier study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, on February 17, 1994. This study found that breast-feeding mothers could not lose weight if they began an exercise program without also cutting the amount of calories they consumed.
"You've got to have the caloric restriction if you're going to see weight loss," Dr. Lovelady said

QUESTION:
What is a balanced vegan diet plan for weight loss?
I am a female vegan, 5'7 and 135 pounds. I am not overweight, but I would like to lose about 5 pounds, maybe a little more. I need a good balanced diet plan or at least some meal suggestions. So if you have a good weight loss plan please write it in a Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack format pleeeeeease! Thank you!-
ANSWER:
In general, you want to stay in the produce aisle. You need some grain and legume for protein but only in controlled portions.Breakfast: Oatmeal (from the round box) with fresh fruit and some almond milk to drink is nutrient rich and satisfying for your hunger, and yummy! Add some molasses to your oatmeal if you want some extra iron.
Lunch: A huge mixed green salad with crunchy raw veggies. Try to get a variety of colors to increase nutrition. Dress your salad with olive oil and lemon juice, salt and pepper. You can prep some a grain or some pasta if you like, and dump it into your salad if you like...will make it more filling.
Dinner: How bout some rice and lentils? You can cook them in water or veggie stock. Add a fresh carrot, some cabbage or broccoli, some bay leaves, some Italian seasoning, some salt and pepper. This can be either gloppy like mac and cheese, or you can thin it out for a soup.
Snacks: fruit and veggie snacks are always okay. You can also enjoy a glass of non-dairy milk, or a cup of tea.
There are also all kind of meat substitute products. I don't know their nutrition values and calories because I don't eat them.
In my opinion, that is a tiny amount of weight. You could get rid of that weight by cutting way back on your fav junk food, or by working out a little more. You would not need to get on a very strict meal plan at all.

ANSWER:
Read labels, read labels, read labels. Watch your fat intake, less than 15 grams per meal. Don't concentrate on carbs. You need carbs to burn bad carbs. Also eat green, raw veggies. That's helped me lose 35 lbs. and keep it off. Moderation is good.

what is the best diet plan to loose around 15 kgs in a month.
please help me its very urgent.-
ANSWER:
Few tips to bring about weight loss as well as ensuring good health.1. Aerobics:
You need to work on building your heart-lung (cardiovascular) endurance. Take up any activity form cycling, to running or jogging to skiing to swimming to even brisk walking to get that gut into its original size. This kind of activity will draw upon the fat stores in the body for generating fuel to last that long. The presence of oxygen (controlled breathing during this workout, instead of huffing and puffing) will mobilize the fat to get utilized instead of stored. This will take care of the fat that lies above the muscles in the abdominal area. No amount of crunches by themselves will do this. Thankfully, any aerobic activity that elevates your heart rate can help you burn fat and take off unwanted pounds. Many experts recommend doing at least three sessions of 20 minutes of aerobic activity per week. Ideally, for long-term weight control, you should engage in at least four sessions per week, for 45 minutes each time.2. Weight Training:
The key here is to adopt an OVERALL weight training program so that the lean mass percentage in the entire body increases. Balance your ab crunches and leg lifts with an equal amount of effort for the lower back to ensure it is not weak. Work out the rest of the body for the best results. And of course, concentrate on technique and quality of your ab crunches and pelvic lifts, rather than higher repetitions. And remember, exercises such as these, only improve the tone and endurance of the muscles, they don’t burn fat. Where weight training is concerned, make absolutely sure that the weights are not heavy and you use the right technique while lifting, keeping back straight and tummy tucked in, not slackened.3. Healthy diet spread through the day, not night. Eating the right food out of habit rather than as a fad, can work wonders for an extra middle. Keep the calories light and spread out through the day rather than bunching them all at night and then sleeping on it, when the body’s metabolic rate is the slowest.
4. Holding tummy upright
Sitting up tall and straight all day with your tummy tucked in tight can assist in firming up the muscles in the midsection, which in turn appears more slender and trim.1. Increase the consumption of complex carbohydrates like whole wheat, millet (jowar) and barley (bajra).
2. Restrict refined products such as flour (maida) and its products such as bread, noodles, macaronis and pastas in regular diet.
3. Restrict fat and cholesterol rich foods. Only non-vegetarian foods (like eggs and dairy products) are good sources of cholesterol, however saturated fatty acids present in butter, ghee, vanaspati and coconut get metabolised to cholesterol in our body.
4. Reduce the amount of sugars consumed.
5. Consume raw fruits and vegetables in form of salads and raitas in every meal. These provide adequate vitamins, minerals and fiber. Fiber is essential as it aids in digestion, has an effective role in managing obesity and cardiovascular problems.
6. Limit salt intake.
7. Have small portions of food at a time.
8. Do not skip meals.
9. Have regular meal timings.
10. Do not eat while cooking and watching television.
11. Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses) in a day.
12. Exercise regularly. Do brisk walking at least for 20-40 minutes in a day.

QUESTION:
where online can I find free weight loss menus and diet plans?
nothing too elaborate like weight watchers or jenny craig. Just some healthy meal plans/guides of things to eat during the week that are low in fat and calories. Specifically, 1300 calorie plans would be good, and like I said nothing I have to pay for.-
ANSWER:
Fruit and Whole Grains: belong to the group of complex carbohydrates. Your body digest those slower than simple carbohydrates like white sugar, rice and potatoes. Eat a small piece of dark chocolate or have a cup of milk to calm cravings.Cooked Food vs. Processed Food: Avoid processed foods, as they are often high in salt and sugar and preservatives to prolong shelf-life. Fresh, cooked food has fewer calories and lacks the harmful additives of heat-and-eat processed foods.
Go Organic: Organic is not just the hottest fad in town, but it is the way to go. Organic fruit, vegetables and milk, eggs and meat, retain more minerals and vitamins than their counterparts which are often treated with pesticides, or hormones. I rather pay a little more for meat, milk and eggs from animals that are treated humanly.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know any strict weight loss plans or work out plans/ diets? Thanks!!!?
I am looking to start a strict weight loss plan/ diet plan. Does anyone know any that have worked out for anyone?? Thank you in advance.-
ANSWER:
If you are looking at a very strict and forward weight loss and workout plan I highly recommend P90x. This program lasts 90 days and comes with a 90 day meal plan to follow as well. The workouts are great and the program teaches you how to eat correctly & the workouts are very similar to having a personal trainer. It is cheaper than most other weight loss plans out there that seem to lack direct workout regiments. If you would like to try it out: Youtube P90x videos and you’ll get a good idea of what to expect. The program comes with a pack of dvd workouts - cardio/ yoga/ polymetrics/ abs/ arms etc. all ranging from 60 minutes to 15 minutes. Depending on what you’re looking at doing (loosing weight/ gaining muscle) they have a list on what workouts to do on what days.

QUESTION:
Why is almost every diet plan and weight loss center focused on women?
I am a guy that cares about my health and looks and want to lose weight but almost every commercial I see for weight loss is only meant for women such as diet pills, diet food plans, and gyms/weightloss centers. Why don't they have stuff for both men and women or at least have the same amount of stuff focus on men's weightloss?-
ANSWER:
hydroxycut, good product, gears towards both. so does lipo-6. i think its just the tv ads that you are getting this interpretation. if you pick up any issue of "Flex" magazine, or "Muscle & Fitness" and you will see all kinds of ads for men.Woman watch more tv during the day, house wives, then men do. thus, it would be good marketing that they are geared towards woman.

QUESTION:
weight loss plan diet?
I am 17 years old, female. Prom is coming up in mid-May and I put on about 10 pounds over the summer that I want to take off plus a little bit more. I am 5’0 and 119 pounds. What I want to lose most, other than all around is my love handles, stomach (#1), butt (sticks out =/), and my arms are a little too fat for my body.I am planning on going to the gym everyday for about 1.5-2 hours and eating healthy, however, I need a little help with following it and what would be beneficial and what wouldn’t.
I went to the gym today, for the first time for this diet plan/weight losing plan. I did the treadmill for 5ish minutes fast walking (warm-up/cool down) and about 10 minutes running (not SO fast, but running) and then did the sitting bike for 10 minutes/1.5 miles. It was my first day so I didn’t do much.
I am planning on eating healthy so it helps with my weight loss as well and my face.
I plan to eat Special K cereal with 1% milk in the morning (615 AM)
Lunch at school: apple and water? If I should eat more, maybe a sandwich (wheat bread with a slice of cheese since I’m a vegetarian, would that be healthy?) (1030 AM)
100 calorie pack? Or a granola bar would be healthier? (12-2ish, anytime between there)
Dinner: Indian food, but healthy, like soups and veggies.
Snacks during the day: apples, plums, oranges/tangerines/clementines, watermelon.
6 bottles of water per day.
Not eating after 7 PM.I am planning to go to the school gym right after school from 230-3 and then come home and go to my gym by my house from 345-5?
What machines should I do? And how long about? (How do I keep myself from getting bored=( lol)
Also like on treadmill/elliptical should I do incline/hill, if it makes a difference? Also I have a bit of acne on my face. Will exercising and eating like that help clear it up?
When will I see results? And is it possible to lose a bit of love handles/stomach/arm fat in about less than 3 months?
Thank you so much and if you have any other experience suggestions/ideas please help. If anything is unhealthy (foods that I listed) or exercises that will not help/help please tell me, thank you =)
If you ever did a diet/exercise plan that worked/is working in about 3 months, please tell.

ANSWER:
Wow, i actually took the time to read all that.Make your own "100 calorie packs":
-6 almonds
-6 baby carrots
-1/4 an apple.
= 100 cal.You can eat one in the beginning of every class to keep your metabolism up.. plus a bottle of water.
------------------------------------------------------
"Also I have a bit of acne on my face. Will exercising and eating like that help clear it up?"Yes, think of it this way, instead of eating chips & soda, you'd be eating fruits & vegetables & drinking water... which has very little oil compared to junk food.
Specifically, sweating will open your pours up and you can wipe away all the oil pretty much. What you want to do after you sweat is rince your face with cold water.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"When will I see results? And is it possible to lose a bit of love handles/stomach/arm fat in about less than 3 months?"You'll probably see results after a month, but your starting from square one, so it will take your body some time to get into shape but if you eat right & watch your calories, the lbs will be shedding off.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"What machines should I do? And how long about? (How do I keep myself from getting bored=( lol)"I too have workout ADHD, so this is what id recommend:
Cardio workout for the out of shape:
Day 1: 10 minutes of treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bicycle. (30 mins total)
Day 2: 15 minutes of treadmill and elliptical. (30 mins total)
Day 3: 10 minutes of treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike & just 5 minutes of stair stepper. (35 mins total)
Day 4: 15 minutes of treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike (45 minutes total)
Day 5: 15 minutes of treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, then 5 minutes of the stair stepper with an additional 5 minutes of jumping rope. (50 mins total)As you begin to get more fit, more confident in your physical health, you can begin to increase your total workouts by 5 minutes and the intensity by an extra level.
Good luck! You can make those other b*tches jealous if you stay motivated.

QUESTION:
What are the best diet and exercise weight loss systems and plans out there?
I'm looking for experience, not opinions. I want answers from people who have lost 100 lbs. or more, especially. Tell how much you lost on your diet. Brag a little-- you deserve it. But tell me how you did it and how long you've kept it off, whether you had to have surgery for sagging skin afterward (and how you avoided it, if you avoided it) and if you are happy with a healthier lifestyle.
I have a theory... all the people who lose a great deal of weight are too busy having a life to be yakking on Answers! Just kidding, but it's probably true more often than we'd guess!-

QUESTION:
What is a good all around diet plan for weight loss?
I have been doing a ton of research and am coming up with things like "cut out carbs and sugars" and "stay away from starches". What I would really like is a list or a site that has a list of do eat and don't eat foods so that I can put it together. Any suggestions?-
ANSWER:
i've done the "no calorie limit, 6 meals a day"cause it's 6 meals, i don't wanna get stuffed with the first meal, so i need to eat a little, and every 2 hours.
Anything you want (besides the obvious million calories per bite foods) just a little, every 2 hours and never eat till stuffed.
made my metabolism rocket skyhigh and i dropped 20 pounds in a month. Some walking is necessary.
No need for lists and such, it will just make you either get obsessive or OCD or anorexic.

QUESTION:
P90X and diet Weight Loss Plan? A little Extreme But need feedback?
Background: I am 17 years old,5 feet 9 inches, a male. I weigh 244 pounds. I am basically obese, but at the same time you can consider me as being much more athletic than a different person of my size (I can lift weights, at one point benching 250 pounds (from 130 to 250 in a year before I quit); run fast but not too much stamina, although when i jog/pace i can run 5 miles). My framework, I guess you can say that I'm big and have a lot of girth (width).Goal: Is to get anywhere between 150 and 170 without compromising muscle, or in other words, shape the muscle that I already may have and ASAP (before summer - 3-4 months)
Diet: My plan for at least 90 days is to follow an interesting article I found (although no scholarly or endorsed if you want to call it, article still seems promising. It says an average person following this diet alone would lose approximately 20 kgs (44 pounds)) which kind of rotates meals and the nutrition a person may take in: For example,
Day 1: Protein Day
Day 2: Starch Day
Day 3: Carbohydrate Day
Day 4: Fruit Day
Day 5: Water Day
Breakfast fruit everyday except Day 5, Lunch and supper are the same and concentrate on what they require for that particular day.
For better details,
http://www.dietforum.com/N-90Days-Diet.htmOR, I can decide to eat Smart Start Cereal with 2% milk 3-5 times a day (my friend has done the smart start breakfast and ran 6 miles a day, he lost 70 pounds in a month and a half but regained all the weight back in 2 years). My plan is to to switch to a healthy eating lifestyle even when I lose all the weight so I'm not sure if I should starve myself like him.
Exercise plan: I have a program called P90X. It's a very rigorous exercise program which lasts for 90 days and involves differentiation and changes its exercise focus everyday so one doesn't get used to it and keeps on building their body at a fast rate. I'm sure there may be skeptics but there is not a single review (that I found) in which a person tries the program and says its bad (I've tried it myself for a couple of days, and it really is intense)
This is NOT fake, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXkCBYEWm8k
P90X is a very good program and a very very rigorous program as well and I plan on using that for its 90 day program. The guy in the video seems to a on a similar note as me when he started, but I weigh approximately 20 pounds more than himAlso, I plan on running 1-2 mile(s) along with the program anywhere between 7-13 minutes per mile depending on whether I jog or run.
1 pound=3500 calories
My plan is to eat between 1200-1500 calories MAX everyday and when working out everyday, I expect to burn 4000 calories a day (includes calories burned without exercise, like digesting or sleeping). So my calorie deficit should be 2500 calories everyday, so in 90 days or 3 months time I should be around 170-175 pounds. Here are some of the websites I used:
http://www.dietforum.com/N-90Days-Diet.htmhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXkCBYEWm8k
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_loss.php
http://calorieneedscalculator.com/index.html
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do?code=P90XDOTCOM
Feedback is greatly appreciated! This is very important for me! Thanks a lot in advance, and I hope to get some good feedback.
=)
I forgot to add along with the diet.I plan on drinking a whole lot of water. Approximately 2-3 liters a day
Also, I'm thinking about taking V8 equal to 3 servings of vegetables
And, as a natural cleanser, fresh pineapple and cilantro juice from a blenderThanks!

ANSWER:
no doubt, you've done your homework, and it will all help, but the biggest mistake people make is they try and over complicate things. I remember days in the gym, some of the craziest routines and programs people would tell me which would create the most amazing gains. Only months later, they didn't look any different. Stick to the basics, because the biggest factor in you accomplishing your goals, is formulating new habits. Creating a healthy lifestyle has to be the foundation of creating new habits. Here is what I would suggest: For 30 days, write down everything you eat. I'm sure you'd be amazed at the amount of "unconscious" calories you consume. It will help eliminate those in-between snacking and late night snacking. A goal would be to keep your calories around 2500 per day, with 60% carbs, 30% protein, 10% fat. You'll need the energy if you're doing the exercise routines you plan on. In terms of exercise, I think the P90X is a very good program, since it focuses on the biggest factor of achieving fitness goals; muscle confusion. I'm almost 40, I've done every program you can think of, and muscle confusion works on all levels. It is intense, do what you can. Within a couple weeks, you'll be suprised how much you've progressed. I'm afraid if you're mixing P90X and running, you might get over trained, which puts the body in a state of conservation. If you're eating the proper foods, and doing your P90X, I would guarantee you will achieve the results you're looking for. Even if you do a modified version of the program, just by changing your program up, your body will react. Functional training is what allows the body to use multiple muscle groups in a given exercise, and allows the body to work on multiple planes.
Yes, drink plenty of water, write down what you eat, do your P90X, and in 90 days, you will see results, promise. Good luck, and remember, don't over complicate things.

QUESTION:
Who can help me with a diet and weight loss plan?
Ok so im on a strict diet. I'm only going to eat vegetables, fruits etc.
But I also need help for a menu and exercise schedule.
Also, can someone help me with stomach weight and what could be the quickest way to lose it? Along with helping tone my bottom more nicely as well as my legs and arms? I would be seriously grateful!! I don't want to buy any product or any drug I want it to all be natural. Please help!!-
ANSWER:
Eat healthy: eat 3 whole meals a day. For your meals, you want something healthy and that fills you up so that you don't get hungry again for a long time. You need to also make healthy choices like eating whole wheat bread or whole grain bread instead of white bread and brown rice instead of white rice. Cut all junk food. They are bad for you and cause weight gain fast. Cut fast food as well! If you get hungry in between your 3 meals, eat a piece of fruit/vegetable, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, or fruit juice. THey are all good and healthy and will burn fat. As well as eating healthy, combine with exercise and you will lose the weight healthfully and easily. Diets don't work in the long run. When you consume too little, or deprive yourself of certain foods, you are also not getting the essential nutrients. That's why everyone gain the weight back and more in diets. Diet's are a plan for fail. INstead, just focus on eating healthy. You will feel better, look better, and perform better. Opt for a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. that's how you lose weight and keep it off for good.
For the exercise, don't overdo yourself. Just walking, jogging for 1 hour each day will be more than enough. Rememeber to rest for 1 day of the week. Also, if 1 hour is too long for you, you can BREAK IT DOWN thorughout the day. Nobody said you have to get it all done in one shot, just do some after you wake up, some in the afternoon myabe, and sometime before or after dinner. It's more managaeable that way. Walking, jogging, running or swimming are aerobic/cardio exercises and they burn the most calories and fat. They will make you strengthen or build your muscle and keep you burning more calories and fat.
eat healthy and exercise is the golden rule of losing weight. Good luck hun

QUESTION:
A good diet plan for weight loss and to build muscle?
I am 24 years old, recently signed up to the gym. i attend 3 - 4 times a week.
each session i do 20 - 30 minutes cardio the rest i lift weights.
i really want to remove my beer belly.
any ideas?-
ANSWER:
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

QUESTION:
sample weekly weight loss diet plan?
i am looking for a diet plan for weight loss for at least a week..-
ANSWER:
A weekly diet plan is supposed to make your weight loss goal an easier task. Determination is a key when you really want things to happen. But if being on a diet is too much of a chore, then it will most likely be unsuccessful. To help you with that, you must be prepared with a "master plan" to lead you to a quick, workable, and healthier eating in so much as achieving your desired body weight. When choosing a weekly diet plan, keep a few things in mind.
1. It helps best if you follow a seven-day diet plan that details every food that you should eat. Stick on it. This way you can also avoid eating the same food in two or three consecutive meals. Also, this will keep your body from plateauing by guessing on which type of meals you plan to eat.
2. Let's say you're already committed on losing weight fast. It will help you more if your diet is not only healthy but is also delicious, easy, and quick to prepare. Try different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Be creative and put a little twist in every meal. The cheaper it is the better.
3. It is important to keep it balanced with protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and good fat. You should consider a no calorie counting diet plan. Choose calorie rotation diet instead so that you won't feel deprived or conscious every time you eat.
4. Allot an hour on your weekly diet plan everyday to exercise for fast weight improvements in your body. Do not forget to refill the lost water in your body by drinking at least eight (8) glasses of water a day.
5. Have a diet break once in every week. Your weekly diet plan should include a day for you to indulge on the foods that you want to eat. This will keep your body from plateauing and deprivation. After all, having it only once is not really bad at all.
6. You must always remember that you're doing this in order to make you feel better and healthier. You should know that sudden change in your dietary intakes might confuse your body or lead to any vitamin or mineral deficiency. That is why it is also best that you have your dietician to help you with your weekly diet plan.
Hope it helps you in planning the good weight loss plan that suits you!

QUESTION:
Diet Plan for weight loss and health?
I weigh roughly 195 lbs and am around 6'3" tall. I have a small belly and average muscle tone. I want to lose the belly and start to get on a fitness routine for the summer. What are some good diet plans for that sort of thing? Nothing extreme, A reasonable and livable diet plan would be wonderful.-
ANSWER:
first of all, dieting often does not work because it is difficult to keep up the routine, and you end up gaining back all the weight you initially lost. Instead, I suggest you develop better eating habits, eat healthier, and exercise. To break it down for you:-drink plenty of water during the day: it flushes toxins, decreases appetite & has so many other great benefits.
-cut the amount of bread, flour and, obviously, manufactured products you consume.
-do more cardio. running, biking, walking are examples. work outs that target muscles are also slimming.. 30 crunches, 1 minute of plank, and another 30 crunches is a good daily routine to start with for your stomach. (be sure to stretch!!!!)
-keep track of what you eat. make a list of stuff that you plan to eat for the day, and check off things throughout the day as you eat them.
-include more fruits, vegetables and lean meats (chicken, fish) in what you eat. there are plenty of low-calorie recipes you can find on the web.
-go into a calorie deficit, meaning that you burn more than you consume. (cardio really burns up calories...)
-eliminate junk-food temptation, and build up your self control. for example, next time you find yourself reaching for a bag of potato chips, grab a glass of water and an apple instead.
-get a good night's rest. this is just as simple as drinking plenty of water- and it comes with so many benefits.
hope this helps c:

QUESTION:
In your opinion, what is the most effective diet or weight loss plan and why?
PLEASE don't say throw up. I am prepared for ignorant comments.Don't just say simple diet and exercise. I need details, like what kinds of foods and what kinds of exercises. Thank you.

ANSWER:
I have lost a total of 120 pounds so far.
I lost 105 pounds in my first 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water. It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

http://360.yahoo.com/my_profile-sDavxh02dLTh0eY_tDNPXRGnYw--?cq=1Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.

QUESTION:
Diet Plan, Weight Loss?
I am 5'2" and weight 190 lbs. I am beginning an exercise plan that involves biking for 30 minutes 1 to 2 times per day. I will be eating a low calorie diet (specifically, 2 slimfasts per day and a sensible dinner). Because I never exercised before, my boyfriend says I could be down to 120 lbs. within three months. I think he's crazy and it'll take at least six months. Do you agree? What do you think? Am I on the right track? Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!-
ANSWER:
70 pounds in 3 months? That's a signifigant weight loss in that short of time.Regardless of the type of diet you choose - your body will end up loosing between 2 to 3 pounds a week after 2 or 3 weeks. You might have a 5 to 7 lb weight loss the first couple of weeks if you get lucky.
So - 4 weeks x 2.5 (I'm averaging) is 10 lbs a month weight loss. X 3 months is 30 lbs.
I'd say he's being 'slightly' unreasonable - but I swear, sometimes guys are just like that. My husband picked out a pair of jeans - 3 sizes smaller than I was at the time - cause he just 'knew' they would fit. Glad I love him - kept me from smacking the crap out of him. My husband however - if he's working out/eating right - can drop 20 lbs in a month. Makes me want to shoot him.
I would NOT set yourself up for a 'I'm going to be 120 lbs by
. Otherwise if you aren't loosing as quickly as you 'need' to - your going to get discouraged. And you need to ENCOURAGE yourself. I would suggest that you look into an alternative form of exercising - biking is great - I absolutely LOVE to bike - but 2 times a day - every day is going to bore you to tears after a while.
I would suggest that you look at possibly alternating walking (at a fast pace, until you get to the point you can possibly run) and biking. Or biking and a pilates or yoga workout. Something that is going to break up your 'routine' so that it's enjoyable. You need to find an exercise that - long term - will work for you.
I'm not a big fan of the slimfast diet - because I think it's more important that you learn to make healthier choices foodwise - as opposed to depending on a can of something. Not only that - but it's processed so quickly - your going to be hungry.
Depending on your normal diet - you might do better on a modified low carb (South Beach) or even Atkins. I tend to trend towards whole food concepts of healthier eating, rather than drastic diets like Slimfast.
The 2 best suggestions I can give you are these:
Measure yourself. Measure your neck, bust, waist, hips, and thigh. Remeasure yourself once a month. Sometimes the scale doesn't move much - but you will lose inches - ESPECIALLY if your exercising.
Buy yourself clothes that fit the size that you are. If you've lost 20 lbs - buy new jeans/shirts/shorts - otherwise you feel frumpy as you lose weight, instead of showing off and glorifying in the fact that your healthier than you were.
Good luck!

Best diet menu to eat for maximum weight loss?
I'm thinking of starting a weight loss diet and im trying to lose 40lbs.
I have a complete exercise plan but I am still confused on a specific diet plan that will help me achieve maximum weight loss..
Any good menus that have worked with anyone else?-
ANSWER:
Hi,I graduated high school at 240 pounds and at 5 foot 3 that made me about as round as I was tall. I was one of those overweight teenagers who ate anything and everything without any regard to the effects it was having on my own body. Therefore, I began the diet pills, which did not work; I ate the special diet foods and even began drinking diet beverages. None of this stuff worked for me, just as it does not work for millions of overweight people. Eating less did not work and I was not one to work out or even get up and do anything remotely related to exercise. I knew I would look silly and it would hurt. I never thought or really cared about the health effects this would have on me, back then.
A year ago after a successful weight loss plan, now at 120 pounds, it is a major difference. I've lost 30 pounds in the first month. The most significant change in my life is the amount of energy I now have and the way my clothes fit loosely. Everyone close to me and people I haven’t seen in a while are amazed and tell me that I look really good. This is a life changing experience for me although at first I was skeptical about the weight loss plan.

QUESTION:
New Not really diet but weight loss plan?
As of today I am starting this new thing. I am 5 ft 4 inches, age of 15, 124 pounds and never have excercised and never want to in my life. My daily meal usually consisits of 3 large meals breakfest dinner lunch, and then many snacks in between. I would like to try this new thing starting today, by for breakfest only eating a small bowl of Froot Loops or any other cereal I choose weith milk, for breakfast, and then a ham sandwich for lunch, and rice and chicken for dinner, a normal portion on a plate of that. And cut out my in between sweet and sugary snacks. Do you think I will be able to lose weight, and if so, how soon?-
ANSWER:
It sounds safe. It sounds like cutting out the between meal snacks and sugars will help in weight loss. Your body could use fresh veggies and fruits. I don't understand your aversion to exercise, but that is your own personal decision. Even daily walking for 30 min will help with weight loss and is not difficult to attain.

ANSWER:
Follow these steps to get in shape.
1. Eat about 6 small complete meals throughout the day (fish, almonds, walnuts, and lean proteins in general, plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, and complex multigrain carbohydrates) spaced out about every 2-3 hours. Consume between 1500-2500 calories a day.
2. Do NOT starve yourself, do NOT binge eat.
3. Be as active as you can; nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knockout 10 elevated push-ups.
4. Eat some spicy foods; take a decent amount of vitamin C, and drink between a half-gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day.
5. No more soda. Ever.
6. If you do drink coffee, drink it black.
7. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle.
8. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Jumping Jacks, Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, back raises, glute ham raises, burpees)
9. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more then 9.
10. Avoid anything deep-fried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar.Check out those website below for more tips. hope that helps.

QUESTION:
Does anyone have a good weight loss diet plan for teens?I will do anything! I'm going on bipolar medication with side affects of weight gain for the first few months at least. I cannot afford to gain more weight! I'm 5'7" and range from a size 2-4. I will do anything to keep the weight off and preferably lose more. Thank you!
Oh, and each day I consume between 1,200-1,600 calories, and I exercise for 1 and a half to 2 hours a day. (1 hour-1 hour and 15 min. of cardio, 30 min of ab and thigh work or pilates, and 15 min. stretching)
-
ANSWER:
Unless you're heading toward 8-10 country then you have nothing to worry about.Just continue to exercise and if your appetite increases with the medication remember to eat foods without many calories like vegetables.
I found carrot sticks most helpful when I took appetite increasing medication. Eat as many as you like but there are few calories. Also include water in your diet as it is healthier than soda or other drinks. It also helps to suppress hunger.

can every one tell what is your daily diet plan ( weight loss)?
please tell me all the details . most importantly , if u feel hungery in between ,what are the healthy snacks that u have in your pocket?waiting for your answers
-
ANSWER:
What works for me is:*Gradually include more fresh vegetables into your diet.
*Slowly replace the fast food (McTaco Jr.'s), preprocessed, high in animal fats(i.e, cheese, ice creams, pork rinds, etc.), high in sugar (soda pop?), with natural, fresher alternatives.
*Moderately paced aerobic exercise (not more than 4-5 days/week, not more than 40 minutes/day) to include:
**Jogging **walking with a light (not more than 10lbs.) backpack
**bicycling, swimming, skipping rope, you get the idea.Drink more water (H2O is best).
*When I DO snack, a mix of nuts and cranberries (dried/sweetened) usually does the trick until I can get in a workout/make dinner.
Good luck, I hope this helps!

QUESTION:
Are there diets & weight loss plans for people who have an inactive/sluggish Thyroid illness?
I'm 36, 5' and overweight. I NEED to loose 30 pounds. When I was younger, I would just cut back on what I ate & the pounds would come off. Now I am taking Synthroid for a very inactive thyroid, and it seems no mater how much I decrease my caloric intake, I do not loose any weight. To complicate matters, I am allergic to fish, seafood, & soybeans.... and I am single mom with a VERY limited income. I also have some back injuries which limit the amount of vigorous exercise (and pilates) that I can do. I am looking for a diet - not a work out plan. Anyone out there know of any diets that would be effective? (please don't say ask your doctor, as I can barely afford the Snythroid, let alone another doctor visit) - Thanks.
Just to verify - I have back & neck injuries which limit the amount of vigorous exercise I can do. I am not asking for a exercise program because I know my limits of what I can and cannot do without hurting myself & exacerbating my condition.... I am looking for a diet which compliment what exercise activities I can do that will work for someone with a sluggish / inactive thyroid.-
ANSWER:
Exercise is just as vital as food intake when it comes to losing weight. There's lots of excellent tips and tricks for exercise on the site in the box below. I lost 9 pounds by following their tips.

QUESTION:
weight loss/ diet plan question ?
weight loss question?
okay so I am currently 5'6 and 160 pounds. I want to go down to 120 before I start college which is beginning of September. Here is my diet plan that I have been on for about 2 days now and of course it is much too early to see results but I would like some of your opinions on it and suggestions on how to make it better.
ps. I don't want to just lose weight I want to tone my body, so here it is:diet consists of 5 small meals per day but the only things that I am allowed to eat include:
egg whites (one whole boiled egg once a week)
basic salad (lettuce, cucumber, lemon juice)
soy milk
only one fruit per day from the following selection- apple, grapefruit, handful of blackberries.
green tea (no sugar, just one tea spoon of honey)
plain chicken breast (not fried)
white fish (again not fried)
celery (no dip)
coffee (black)
and my exercise plan includes:
-one hour of elliptical in the morning
-one hour of elliptical + half an hour of weight lifting/ muscle building exercises at night
-50 sit ups per day
-sundays are my rest days, so no exerciseI've stuck to this plan for two days and have no intention of giving up any time soon, so let me know what you think. and please keep all negative comments to yourselves.
And let me know if you think I'll lose th weight in time if i stick to this plan
thank you =)-
ANSWER:
I think your plan sounds pretty good. The meal part is perfect, low sugar and low carb, so you should be fine.
Your exercise plan could have some more cardio incorporated into it though. Try taking up running - it's good for your core, and it slims down leg muscles! Too much elliptical can make your thigh muscles bulky and large. Along with your sit-ups, why not add 20 push ups to that too? And on your rest days, maybe do some stretching, because it helps with the build-up of lactic acid and increases your range of motion without tiring you out.I think with the combined effort of a healthy diet and constant exercise, you should be able to lose all the weight you need! You could even add a few other foods to your diet plan, as long as you exercise, because everyone needs a bit more variety in their diets.
When you go off to college, are you planning to stick to a healthy diet/exercise then too?
