I personally like Gilad's Kick boxing, ten minute solutions videos, shape and woman's health videos. get your self some 5 pound dumbbells or a gym member ship and do bicep curls, push ups, sit ups, squats, dead lifts, lunges, tricep over head extensions, chest presses, shoulder presses, etc. You can do most of this on your own if you just go and buy some free weights, but a gym membership is helpful as well. If you do end up getting a gym membership I would consult a personal trainer (most memberships come with a free session) they can show you what to do and come up with a meal plan for you...

Make sure you read the labels on prepared foods, as lots of them have modified food starch (often wheat) or caramel coloring (often wheat). Even most brands of soy sauce contain wheat. There are many different diet plans just please don't go with Atkin's or a liquid diet. Don't over restrict your calories because this will slow down your metabolism and produce more cortisol a fat storing hormone. A lot of diets are crash diets as well that are unhealthy so if something promises a huge loss real quick I guarantee its unhealthy. One of my favorite websites is http://bodybuilding.com they have free information on everything you can think of to do with health and fitness. Besides following a plan watching your saturated fats and sugar. 15-30 minutes a day for 3-4 times a day of cardio like walking to running depending on your activity level you have now will make a huge difference as well. Drinking lots of water like a gallon a day is really good for you as well to flush out toxins and it also makes your body reduce its water weight by flushing out access water weight. In a month alone you will feel a huge difference in just drinking a gallon of water a day. NEVER buy diet books or plans online there are plenty of free ways that have the same information or better.

Cut back on the junk foods and eat alot of veggies and meat!! Trust me i have learned it makes you lose weight like crazy. Even if you walk around the block once a day(i know you have surgery, I hope you are okay). I lift weights and it work. And it doesnt hert to try!!!!! I think healthy food is great and walking around the block is even better!!!

Breakfast - Smoothie with 1 cup of mixed berries, half a cup of milk, half a cup of ice cubes, and 1-1 and 1/2 scoops of protein powder. I use power bar vanilla flavor.
Snack 1 - Protein bar. I use "23 grams of protein".
Lunch - Sandwich with low fat meat, low sodium cheese, and whole wheat bread. Vegetables, or salad with low fat dressing.
Snack 2 - Cooked soy nuts (salt them to add flavor).
Dinner Option 1 - Cooked fish (halibut preferably) with low fat lemon sauce and long grain rice, plus mixed vegetables or salad. Add bread or a roll if you need more calories.
Dinner Option 2 - Hard noodles that you boil, plus low fat meat sauce or tomato sauce. If neither appeals to you add pesto sauce. Plus bread or a roll for extra calories.
Remember to drink 64 ounces of water per day, approximately 8 large glasses. This helps to make you feel full, quench thirst, and flush out any bad stuff inside you.
This meal plan will not only help you build the muscle that you want, but shed any fat off you may have.
