Searching for weight loss tips for teens? Today's world exerts lots of extra pressure on teenagers to look thin.
Popular TV shows directed at teens all feature thin, pretty young characters, overbearing oldsters can put undue stress on their kids to lose pounds.
Far worse still, is teens peers can be exceedingly judgmental of others weight. There's no straightforward solution to this dilemma.
Taking advantage of a number of these weight loss tips could help make the teenager experience less trouble being a fat youth.
One of the most important weight loss tips, especially for young girls, is to make sure that you understand what a healthful person looks like. A lot of girls and young women on TV are, or at least seem to be, too thin.
The media may portray this as the ideal but the truth is, it is not a healthy way of life.
It is not unusual for many teens to look in the mirror and see only ugliness and fat, when in reality they are a perfectly healthy young person.
If you constantly feel severely depressed concerning your weight or your look, you should seek help from a psychologist. They can help you improve your own self-image and pursue weight reduction goals in a healthy way.
Another in the list of weight loss tips for teens is to keep in mind what your body is growing through. During your teenager years, your body can endure a variety of changes that affect how you grow.
For example, you may hit a late expansion spurt and gain a few inches in height, so your weight can even out across your frame. Puberty is an advanced time - if you know that you're following a correct diet and exercise plan but aren't seeing results, you may just need to wait until you have totally grown into your body.
If your school cafe only serves food that is greasy and processed, discuss with your parents about bringing a healthier lunch each day. Make efforts to take part in gymnasium class, and if you can, get involved in extra-curricular sports, too.
Another factor that can be a great help in shedding pounds is enrolling the aid of your folks.
If one of your parents is the main family cook, discuss with them about healthier options for meals. Furthermore you can offer to help your parent with renovations or yard work for a little extra exercise. These weight loss tips for teens can make a massive difference for you.

QUESTION:
Weight loss for teenagers?
If a teenager wanted to lose weight, what workout/diet plan would you recommend for her?Personally I want to lose 15 pounds. I exercise 1 hour a day, sometimes more, with strength training and cardio.
What would be the best diet? Is it best to watch portion sizes, count calories, or eat impeccably healthy?
Thanks and no ads.

ANSWER:
You may have no extra weight to lose, dear- just a thought. Muscle weighs more than fat, and if you are working out to the extend you say you are, you probably don't have much to lost. Unless you also eat like an elephant, and eat a lot of high calorie things. The best diet is a sensible balanced one. As long as you are a teenager, you are still growing. You grow inside and out, so it's not always visible. Calorie restrictions are not a good idea, as it limits the amount of building material you have available to do the work of building you and doing repairs. The best diet is one that provides a good balance of things, with no particular food being bad or off limits. The FDA site has a lot of really good information about what a teen diet should be like, to help you make the wise choices. In the end, it does come down to calories though. If you eat more calories than you expend over several days time, you gain weight. If you eat fewer calories, you lose. It's not the intake of any one day that tilts the scale, it's a matter of several days or a week that are most important. So it's an average dailly intake of calories that you look at, using a week's worth of calorie intake to get the average. Portion size would play into the calorie counting, obviously. While there aren't any bad foods, there are most definitely foods you should eat less of, less often than others. Your diet should be heavy on the whole grains, fruits and veggies, and light on fats and sugars. Obviously, you want to avoid much in the empty calorie category, like soda- but then again, a soda every so often isn't going to kill you either. Offset a high fat, high calorie meal with a low fat, low calorie meal. It's a matter of balance, really. A little of what you crave and a lot of what is good for you. The key is moderation, not excess and not deprivation. Check out the FDA site, and go from there.

QUESTION:
diet for weight loss ?
I'm a teenager planning on going on a 15 week weight loss plan trying to lost 2 pounds a week. I'm going to burn 500 daily and then eat 500 less--so that would be only eating 1000 calories. how should i eat? i know generally not to eat any white bread or pasta and sweets and chips but i want to know detailed how i should eat.peace.
-
ANSWER:
I, understand the need for the salt and sugar and carbs. I, believe when you first start out ...this is my suggestion. You, should not first of all go cold turkey. You will then crave the things you want and overeat something else. Please, know bread is not bad. I love Subway, McDonalds and etc. Dunkin Donuts just came out with a breakfast sandwich that is on a flatbread with vegggies and eggwhites..EXCELLENT..only 300 calories. You do not have too crash diet and then give up because you want to lose weight quickly and then gain it back or more. Accountability, and Forgiveness are found at the local weight watcher meeting. I love it!! You do not even have to go but cutting back by 1000 calories, per day, is going to slow your metabolism down and you will loose your muscle not fat. 1200, calories is even low but works for me. I never had a weight problem until my 50's. My sister did and lost 100 pounds. You do need to exercise to burn, but remember whether it is a Hershey bar or a cobb salad..they both have fat and calories. Weight Watchers is the best tool to guide you along your program. Talk to one of their people, as when you drop down too fast, then losing more makes it more difficult. I also believe in fasting once a week for 2 meals not the whole day. If you choose weight watchers and walk you will be monitored for eating to less or too much and the same with exercise. Remember, I know people that run, lift weights and eat way beyond their portions and snack...no weight loss. Calories, is what bottom line counts. Water, is the only thing that has no calories. However, you need to drink water..add a lemon in ho or cold...., and if you drink latte's and milkshakes.. that all has to go. The coffee creamers at restaurants are 2 points which is a lot of The fat burning will happen when you start and progress. Two pounds a week is good with 3 meals and a snack. 1200 calories a day or 18-22 points weight watchers..I know I am 5'5inches. I wish you all the best and you will do it. Once you reach your goal you will...weigh yourself every day in the morning, as do NOT go by clothes, as my 9's fit ...but snug in my thighs as I have gained 10 pounds..but they still fit. CALORIES...total answer! You go girl..You can do it!! DO NOT STARVE!!! Walk, Count your intake and buy some new clothes at a nice consignment stores to get you motivated and a goal to fit in the size smaller. Consignment, as will be too small to wear that size month after month of losing. 5 pounds for 7 months is 35 pounds...You will be healthier and a 135 pound girl. When you arrive at that weight...you can continue and before you know it... you will have changed your outlook on life and know that you have the will and the way to never gain the weight back which as important, as losing it. I will be thinking of you and will keep you in my prayers. Remember, I am in my 50's and I can lose weight but at a slower rate as my metabolism dropped. However, nonsense to people who say it's over when you hit a certain age. YOU WILL DO IT...You are a teenager and the magazines at the grocery counter with movie stars have personal cooks, trainers and are disiplined through coaches. When they get hungry they can have someone whip up a 1200 calorie day meal plan. They also can say get me a turkey sandwich, pronto!! We, ordinary people have to cook, choose and decide the meal plan for the day...BASE...your whole life ahead to enjoy food in moderation and on some days it may not be. Just get up and start again!!

Weight Loss?
Im a teenager and Im not over weight but it wouldnt hurt to lose a little. What is the healthiest way to lose weight? How many calories should i consume a day? I usually eat from 800 to 1000 calories a day. Here is my diet plan:
*Breakfast: 1/2 cup no sugar cereal, 1 cup skim milk, 1 small apple
*Lunch: 2 small apples*Dinner: 1 Cup rice, 1 cup vegetables, 1 serving of meat- all low fat and nothing fried, no oil, (only salt and seasoning, meat is broiled)
*1 Cup of tea with 1 teaspoon sugar (3 times a week not every day)
*1 small fruit before bed*I do excercise 1/2 and hour a day (Playstation 2 dance mat, or I jogging 3 miles, depends on day)
Is this healthy. What can I do with my diet to lose weight faster? I dont want to do Jenny Creg or whatever. I thing those diets are fake.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know a diet plan for teenager or that's easy to follow?
I'm so frustrated cause I want to start a diet to loose weight and I've been searching around and what i find is simply more blah blah on diets or this crazy recipes that must be done with tons of condiments and stuff that I don't have or don't eat, specially in school so I would really like to hear from some of you guys and your experiences with weight loss and some diets that have worked for you.-
ANSWER:
School meals tend to be made with a lot of preservatives and fillers to be cheaper. For that reason, when I was in high school, if I needed to lose weight, I would exercise first thing in the morning (starting with cardio and moving to weights) and only eat vegetarian meals for lunch. Take your salad dressing on the side and dip your bites in the dressing to get light dressing. Finally, avoid snacking, but if you have to snack, eat raw foods, like apples or oranges, since they taste best and are the most filling. For dinner, it is fine to eat a full meal with grains, meats, and fats, but be sure your serving for each meal is the size of your fist. There's no such thing as an easy diet. Any "easy" diet (Slim Fast, hCG, Atkins) will not last and will cause you to gain weight twice as fast.

QUESTION:
Is this a good weight loss plan for me??
I am going to do a week of a diet plan from "the diet for teenagers only". I am a 14 yr old girl weighing in around 165 and i'm 5'8". I want to lose about 35 pounds in 3-5months and I will also go to the gym for an hour three times a week and lift and then the other days I'll run 1-3miles on my tredmill. Is this a good weight loss plan? Is this a good weight loss book? Will this book and the plan help me lose a lot of the weight? How long roughly do u think it will take roughly to lose this weight? How many pounds do u think I'll lose a week? Does this book have a good plan? Please answer and if u could, right kinda a long answer because I need ur input so I feel more reassured..hopefully. Thank you so much-
ANSWER:
You may think right now about looking good involves COMPLETELY with the scale... but let me tell you that's the exact opposite. You could skip a meal, weigh yourself, and see that you've dropped 2-3 lbs. That's muscle and water weight (NOT FAT). Measure your body parts that you want to lose weight from (belly, thighs, arms). Use that to record everything. Maybe 3-4 times a week weigh yourself, but don't make it a complete continuous thing. The workout plan seems like it'll work. Eat between 1,500-1,700 calories a day and drink tons of water and make sure you get your vitamins, fiber and calcium. ALSO, stop eating AT LEAST 3 hrs. before bed. You'll definitely see a difference.
Best of luck =)

I'm sixteen too and have been losing weight for a wedding where I'm a bridesmaid
what I have been doing is for breakfast I have either fruit salad with a little bit of yoghurt or one small piece of whole grain toast with NO butterFor lunch I have sliced raw carrot and celery with tzaziki or hummus or a salad with chicken for protein
and then for dinner I have either a piece of grilled chicken or fish with vegies and salad
or a weight watchers meal, but you have to be careful because some of them have a lot of caloriesand then you need to exercise!
I go to the gym every morning and do 10mins on the bike for warm up
then 45 mins on the treadmill running for 5 mins at least three times during
and then weights for 10 minshope this has helped
(p.s on saturday I have one "bad" meal, for example I might have a slice of pizza for dinner with my friends)

QUESTION:
help with Weight loss?
Alright well i just started going to gym like 2 weeks ago, and i havent made any progress, it seems like am like the same like before. I keep going back and forth on weight/how i look in the mirror. And Ive been running a mile everyday/doing weights. I'm 15 and 6'3 and i weight 220 avg. I'm getting tired of being chubby, life fucking sucks when you are. And I'm guessing what is doing this is my eating habit. I have had been cutting off on sweets and junk food but not 100% but its like regular... what a normal person would eat. But idk if its how often i eat or w.e it is, so if anyone know about a weight loss plan for someone like me let me know. or if their a is a diet pill a teenager can take without being destroyed by the inside.-
ANSWER:
Just eat right, and make a simple everyday workout plan. How? Simple. Just make an easy workout plan for each weekday at the gym. WeekENDS are breaks.
MY workout plan goes like this:
Mondays-Legs (Running, stuff like that)
Tuesdays-Biceps and triceps (Weights, machines at the gym, etc.)
Wednesdays-I just take yoga classes at the gym that day
Thursdays-Sports (Basketball, Swimming, etc. You can do these at the gym)
Friday- Abs
Saturday- BREAK
Sunday-BREAK^^ That's just MY workout plan. Feel free to come up with your own! Also, while you are exercising, Make sure to get lots of water. And down push yourself beyond your limit. That can lead to tearing muscles, so then you can't exercise. Make sure you eat healthy. Eat fruits and veggies! Cut down on ALL junk food.Eat whole meals. Eat whole wheat bread. Eat brown rice. Then you will lose weight in no time!
Hope I helped!

QUESTION:
I am at a rut right now in my weight loss!!!! Any help please?!?
I know when attempting weight loss there are necessary rules one must follow like limit your intake of carbs and sugar, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, make sure you get enough protein, exercise so you burn more calories than you consume in one day. This maybe easy to follow for some people but i am having EXTREME problems with this.1. My main problems is the intake of carbs and reduction or cancellation of sweets in my diet. I'm still a teenager so this is very difficult to follow especially if you have other siblings and your whole family could care less about your goal of being healthier in fact they'd try to stop you! well of course i mean me. Not only that but its really hard to limit carbs when your food supply is made of say 60% unhealthy carbs! and i can't continuously ask my parents to go shopping every week to get me fresh veggies or whole grains when i need them. On top of that we don't have much money right now so to save money when food shopping my mom always buys the cheap and easy white bread and simple spaghetti huge bags of rice microwavable waffles the generic frozen pizzas and sugar induced cereals. She tends to also buy food right after work so we never get a say so in what we want. once again on top of THAT im half Hispanic and even though we don't live in my moms country anymore she still cooks like we do. by that i mean rice in almost every meal or something fried, not that i eat anything fried blah! but the rice is hard to resist when she prances with it around on a platter, rarely does she involve any fruit or fresh veggies into the party as her favorite dish is rice beans and chicken. not to mention its hard to go all ancestral i your diet when we live in modern America and one is surrounded by fried greasy fatty sugary carb filled eats and if one does manage to revert to the natural way of fuel it surely tastes bland and boring. How do i overcome this for my own health????
By the way Sunday is my chance to change this cause we're going grocery shopping. Can anyone please give me a list of healthy foods fruits and veggies to buy to get me on the right track???
2. What fruits and veggies do you advise i eat? im not really asking what will help me lose weight, im asking what will get me healthy cause i plan to stick with this diet of fruits veggies water and so on. not on the quick path to one time success but on the journey to prosperous longevity! Sounds cheesy...
3. How much protein should i eat if intend to lose weight while simultaneously toning up? Specifically what kind of protein such as fish or whatever else has protein.
4. When they say burn more than you eat if i plan to it 1217 tomorrow do i have to really burn more than 1217 calories?! if that's the case then whats with all that crap about 30 minutes of exercise a day will help you stay healthy! not that i do 30 minutes or intend to do that minimal amount and expect results from it. I really don't want anyone saying join weight watchers cause im a teenager and don't have a job let alone support from anyone so that would be out of the question.
my intention is to lose 14 or 16 or 20 pounds, whatever weight i look best at but i need a plan that i can follow for the rest of my life.

ANSWER:
You have the perfect attitude to adopt a healthy eating lifestyle and be lean and healthy for life (most people lack this and will always be overweight and unhealthy). It's not going to be easy in your household though, because when you eat bad foods (sugar, white flour products and processed foods) you get cravings for more bad foods (due to the huge insulin spikes they cause which gives you low blood sugar). When you eat 5 healthy balanced (complex carbs, protein and good fats)meals a day, those meals will trickle glucose (blood sugar) into your system and you won't get low blood sugar, therefore you won't get cravings for crappy foods (quick sugar fix). Healthy food doesn't have to taste bland. Oatmeal tastes great if you add fruit, no sugar added syrup, cinnamon, diet yogurt and skim milk. Oatmeal is one of the best fat burning foods out there (as long as you don't shovel the sugar on it). Instead of sour cream on baked potatoes, I whip up 1% cottage cheese with green onion, garlic and spices and it tastes better than sour cream and now you are eating very low fat protein instead of a ton of saturated (bad) fat. You seem to be good at finding the right information, so just eat like bodybuilders eat (they have it down to a science on what foods are healthy, fat burning and muscle building). When you eat right and exercise you will be amazed how fast your body will burn off any extra fat (I lost 45 lbs in 4 months and added muscle, so I probably lost 60 lbs of fat and now I'm ripped) and you will feel GREAT all the time. I did this while having one cheat day a week where I eat what ever and don't worry it won't hurt your progress, it will actually help because when you are on a calorie deficit diet your metabolism will want to slow down and by overeating a bit one day a week it will kick it back into high gear. You don't have to burn all the calories you eat with exercise, because all your body functions (heat, digestion, pumping blood...) burn most of your calories. A 200 lbs person needs 2000 (10 x body weight in lbs) calories just to be alive (no exercise).
I could right a book here, but all the info you will ever need can be found for free at "Scoobys home bodybuilding". That guy really knows his stuff and he has a wealth of knowledge on his site from nutrition to working out.
Just do the best you can while at home and get serious when you move out in a few years.

QUESTION:
Teenager needs help losing weight?
I am only 13 years old and I am 50 lbs over weight. I want and need to lose weight and gain mussle in my arms and legs and maybe get some off my stomach and get a lil bit of abbs. So is there any weight loss plans or diets or training that would work for me?-
ANSWER:
Dont do diets. Just dont. Listen to me. DONT!OK well before ANYTHING, the key is to excersize. You should get at least 60 minutes a day. Go to the gym with your parents and ask the people who work there.
Eat right. No more junk. Basically, follow the food pyramid and eat more fruits than you should.
Go to quixtar.com and browse the Nutrilite Vitamins. I have like all the varieties and theyre really good for you along with Perfect Water. The water is very pricey but very good for you and definately try the vitamins.

QUESTION:
Can someone give me Weight loss advice?
I have tried many weight loss plans before but the two conclusions that I have came to is.1) you either have to starve your self or work out 16hrs a day to lose weight.
2) losing weight is damn near impossible.
I need to lose weight not just to look good naked lol but to feel good. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I was raised on a TRUE BLUE southern diet. Fried EVERYTHING! I bet when I was a kid my cal intake was well over 3000 a day. Anyway since I have moved out on my own and plan and prepair my own meals. ( i have been on my own for 8yrs now) I rarely have grease in the house to even be used. I bake fries and not fry them. I donot eat more than one fast food meal a week and I use olive oil to sautaee when I plan on using oil. I ALWAYS have fresh veggies ( carrots and celery) around the house for snacking and yogurt too. I always keep apples and grapes in the house as well. However since I do have a husband I also keep the Not so good for you snacks around too. But I have dramatically changed the way I eat from all greasy and fried foods as a child and teenager to what I consider a healthier version but since I have been on my own I have gained 60lbs. and 30 of those 60 have been since my last daughter was born 14months ago. I weight 242 when I gave birth to her and I weighted 225 before getting pregnant and now I weight 275 I am so dam aggravateded because I do watch what I eat and I get at least two hrs of exerciseze a day when I am chasing my daughter around out side. I do not know what to do and as far as my DR goes I hate having a Fat doctor because she is not as willing to "help" she tested my Metabolismsm and all that good stuff and everything was normal but that was as far as she went. So anyone that can help with any advice please give it. I do tea but to one gallon of tea there is one cup of sugar so its not very sweet.

ANSWER:
Glad to Help! Well theres no easy way out unfortunately so the remedy for this is to do lots of cardio everyday. It would be prominent to run 3 to 5 miles everday if possible and you will slim down in no time. Just remember to change your pace from jog to run to sprint to fast walk. And as for the diet, you have to eat 4 times a day! From Morning to Mid-Morning, Lunch to Dinner. This technique is often called grazing, which is to eat small portions of some sort of complex carbohydrates (such as grains or bread/noodles/pasta), some sort of vegetable (avoid fruit due to sugar), some sort of protein( peanut butter, meat) and number one drink nothing but water. This plan should be followed everyday if manageable and remember its okay to splurge every now and then! Just remember to keep your portions small and all food should be eaten every meal time. Hope this helps!

QUESTION:
What are some weight loss tips that help YOU?
I'm 14 years old, and I used to be 157lbs, at 5' 5". Now I am 5' 6" and 145lbs. I did a simple workout of 30 minutes of cardio running on the elliptical (?) machine. I lost 17 lbs, and went down to 140, but I stopped working out for three months and gained 4-5 lbs. Then just 2 months ago I started P90X, and went down to 140 lbs again. Then my mom made me switch to Power 90, and I gained 1 lbs.(Now, I'm like 145lbs)
I lost a ton of weight just running, but had a hard time committing to that, since I am a teenager, go to school, and am in the process of writing a novel in hopes to publish it. I am in no way an athlete and I hate sports, thus I do none. Do not make a comment on how a 14 year old shouldn't have to workout, but I do need to. I have Scoliosis and use the European brace which is a series of elastic bands that wrap around the body to pull on different muscles to fix the curvatures and twisting of the spinal column. My doctor wanted me to lose weight so the brace could work more efficiently. So I did.
I felt great when I did the P90X workouts, but they were sooo long. I didn't have that kind of time. Now that it's summer, I guess I do, but I now use that time to write my novel. I was on a the diet plan that went along with P90X, but being a teenager, I always felt hungry, that the diet didn't give me enough options. Most of the time we don't have the right foods in the house that I need. I now can't go above 146 lbs, so technically I permanently lost 10 lbs. Thing is, the brace squeezes the middle of my stomach, so I get really skinny in my very middle, but I get this pouch around my belly button. I lose weight in my upper body, build muscle in my forearms and calves, but I have never lost inches off my thigh and pouch. I mostly need to lose inches, but I do need to lose weight also. When I lose another 5-10 lbs for good, I want to tone up! I poke my stomach, FEEL the abs 1/2" to 1" under my skin, but I SEE nothing! No abs, nothing! I really want to tone up and lose INCHES.What are some weight loss tips or guidelines that you follow that help you a LOT. Particularly if you do the P90X program, that'd be great. I think I'm supposed to eat at least 1600 calories a day to lose weight....
PLEASE, any help would be appreciated. But, please write things that have helped YOU. Not the people on TV, or what the Internet says, unless it helped YOU.
My father has been unemployed for 2+ yrs now. Nothing pricey.
Do not comment if you are only going to send me to a website telling me to purchase any items, that does not help me.
Would any of you have tips for my P90X program? I was doing well, but I had to cut each session short. I might do P90X again, but I don't know.-

Help with a weight loss program?
I want to lose weight healthily by exercising and eating right and I was wondering if this would work?
Sorry it's so long.I'm 95kg, 164cm tall, a teenager and a size 16 in Australia. I know it's bad and I want to do something about it. I have quite a large bone structure so I know I'll never be a size 8 but I just want to be healthy (around size 12 would be great 10 if I can). I want my legs not to rub and my tummy to be flatter so I want to lose fat. I'm going on a healthy diet of mostly protein and vegetables (85%). I also have an exercise plan.
Week 1: everyday 2km - walk 1 pole, run 1
Week 2: 5x 4 km- run 1 pole, walk 1.
2x 2km walk
Week 3: 4km -2km run 2 pole, walk 1. 2km run 1 pole, walk 1.
5x 15 min deep stretching after the 4km
Week 4: 5x 4km- run 2 poles, walk 1
5x 15 min deep stretching
5x strength training (15 min)
2x 2km walk
Week 5: same as week 4
Week 6: same as week 4 except 20 mins strength trainingWhen I say pole I mean the electricity poles as intervals eg. walk 1, run 2.
I wanted to know that if I stick to this and continue on with a similar exercise plan would I be a size 12-14 by New-Year's and swimsuit season (it's summer). And do you have any good advice or suggestions to maximise the fat loss? Thanks for your help.

QUESTION:
Is this is a god Weight loss Plan?
Now I am a young teenager who really wants to lose weight. Now I am not going to starve myself or anything like that and it's not just an "awkward phase" or anything of the matter. So basically My diet would be like cereal for breakfast, a PB&J on whole wheat or a vegetable soup for lunch, then dinner would be either a vegetable soup, or anything healthy around the house although I may occasionally splurge a bit. So then my exercise would be a 30 or 45 minute intense cardio workout from the Nike Workout Program, a Abs and Stomach Yoga Session, and running on the treadmill for 20min - 1hour. So I wanna lose about 30 pounds by 7 months or by summer. So any help would be appreciated and I wanna know if this plan will work. Also I feel very guilt when I splurge and was wondering how to go about this. Please help!! Thanxs!!-
ANSWER:
How about you go running around the block every day? Or at least walk it.
That would do it if you really want.
You will lose weight if you eat less calories than you consume.
Also for a normal (non drastic) diet that works you might want to see:

QUESTION:
I want a healthy diet, but not to lose weight?
I want to eat healthy, because I feel a lot better and more energized after doing so. I do not need to lose weight, so I don't want a weight-loss plan. What I am asking for is some ideas to put me into a routine of eating healthy foods. Such as: certain foods you might recommend, stuff that seems healthy--but really isn't, or whatever else you feel I should know.
I am also a teenager which limits the authority I have other what I can, and cannot buy.Well, thanks in advance
NOT trying to lose weight.-
ANSWER:
eat lots of fruit. i cant say enough what grapefruit and apples and bananas do, but those are awesome ways to start. make smoothies! =) also, ive found that peanut butter does a great job in maintaining weight as well as giving you lots of good protein and vitamin E. also, drink lots of water, and perhaps take a multi-vitamin. i take one-a-day, and it seems to help regulate my eating habits.

QUESTION:
Weight Loss Plan for Me?
Hello, I am about 5'3 and 17. I weight 132 last time i checked. My weight is mostly in my thighs and butt, so thats the target I want to loose weight in and tone up. I know you can't just target one area but if I could, thats the part I would. I eat pretty healthy I would say. My diet consists of cereal in the morning, school lunches (which are supposed to be healthy), and then usually pasta or meat for dinner. I can't really do that 5 meal a day plan because I have school and teachers don't let you eat during class. I wouldn't mind bringing my lunch but it has to be something quick and easy to make, so any ideas? I exercise, but not much. Probably about 3 times a week for about 25 minutes (running). Please, when answering, keep in mine I am a teenager who cannot cook and doesn't have access to a gym or that much time for that matter (homework). Any help would be great
. I want to loose about 15-20 lbs in 3 months. I know, not healthy, but whatever. I really want it gone by the summer

ANSWER:

QUESTION:
What is some good feedback on my weight loss plan?
I am only a teenager guy, but I am 5'6-5'7 and weigh 180 lbs. I started to go to the gym and really haven't changed my diet that much. I actually have a little bit of muscles but I have been going to the YMCA for a few months, I work hard there and I don't see any progress. My doctor said I need to lose weight so what I do at the gym is go there for an hour and do 50% cardio and 50% weight lifting. I so a lot of the tred mill but I'm starting to think the elliptical is better. So I need more progress. Any suggestions? do I need to drink more water, eat less and go to the gym, or anything else would really help me as a future adult.-
ANSWER:
Keep up the weight lifting. Building muscle should be a primary goal. I'd switch up your workouts so you don't mix cardio and weight lifting. Go 5x/week, do weight lifting with barbells for 3 of those days and cardio for the other two. You'd get better results by dumping the tredmill and the elliptical and do a more crossfit-type of cardio workout. Things like 5 assisted pull-ups, 10 pushups, 15 squats, repeat and do as many rounds of that as you can in 20 minutes. It's short and very effective.

ANSWER:
EDIT: Wow. You're being very unresonable. If you're going to be that way then I'm not going to help you. If you aren't going to put some effort into this (like you don't want to save up for an excersize machine or you are too lazy to keep a calorie journal or even ask your mom to make healthier food) then it's not going to be easy. >:( Other people on here and myself have taken the time to help you, but you are just shooting down all of our ideas. My answer is REALLY long, it's full of useful tips, there must be SOMETHING relevant to you in it!
If you're not going to put effort into what you eat, than you're not going to get anywhere. Diet is as much important as excersize, and if you won't even try to improve than what's the point?Ok this is a really really long answer, but please give it a chance because it really works, it worked for me and lots of people I know. Don't get mad that this is so long hahaz its mostly just lots and lots of tips!
Hey there I have the same problem. . But it's acutally pretty easy to lose it and easier than you think. You just have to be patient and don't give up because it really does work. Okay well this might be a little hard if you don't have an ollyptical trainer machine (google it if you don't know what it is. you prob will once you see a picture of it). If you have some other excersize machine this will work too but if you don't have any excersize machine than ask your parents to buy you one! It is really important. If they won't buy one then that's ok but you will have to run which I hate! Well ok do you get a subscription to Seventeen? they have great workouts in there that you can follow. Here's what I do. I try to go on my ollyptical for 30 minutes each day (I do it at night but that might not be a good idea if excersize makes you not be able to sleep. For me it makes me tired but it makes some people less tired!) Also you can listen to music while you work out- it makes fun! and the best part is that with ollpytical trainers you never actually run out of breath but you work up a sweat. Anyway, after you do that, do the workout in your Seventeen. If you don't get Seventeen, then you can find great workouts at their website or somewhere online. And they are strength workouts not cardio so its more like building your abs (which I admit is like torture- side planks, v-sits, and more) but definetly works. There is also leg, butt, and arm excersizes you can do. You don't have to do the strength workouts but they help to build muscle and increase stamina so it is better for you in the long run, so if you want to do them at all the best time is after you have worked out so that you are already sweaty and your heart is already pumped up and you are more flexible. Don't forget to stretch when you are done excersizing, whether or not you do the strength training. Stretching is impt. because it helps you cool down and it helps prevent injury or muscle strain so that your muscles won't be sore the next day. Honestly you don't have to work out every night, it's best to do this 3-4 times a week instead of every night. But if you really want to see results fast, then do it as much as you can. Also for what do you eat, my biggest setback on eating is that whenever I eat cereal I always have 2 bowls which is not that healthy cuz cereal is starch. Try to not have a lot of starch-bread, pasta, potatoes. Ik it sucks but starch turns right in to sugar or fat so it's not really healthy. So replace some starch with protein like nuts, fish, meat, chicken, beans, and more. If you are vegetarian there are lots of protein choices that is not meat. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies they are delicious and really healthy. Breakfast in a hurry make sure to eat cereal and fruit. If you don't have time bring a banana and a granola bar. For lunch if you are at school you can pack celery and peanut butter. It is actually really good! Or carrots and ranch.Something healthy! Pack your lunch with 2 healthy things and allow yourself to pack one thing not so healthy like potato chips or cookies. For dinner try to eat less rice, bread, potatoes, and pasta because again they are starch. If you liek to eat Chinese or Indian food (both yummmm) then you probably will have a lot of rice, so try to eat less starch after that. ALso like if you are dying for a bagle then by all means have one but since a bagel is like 500 calories, and all of that starch, you can't have a lot of starch after that. I htink you know what I mean. Also it helps to keep a calorie journal of everything you eat and how many calories you eat. But you probably alraedy do that and you are doing a lot of things right. Im rly rly sorry this is so long lol! Incentivese: if you are at the point where you don't wear a bikini but would like to, then go to the store where they have really really cute bikinis and if you find a cheap one, by it! Hang it up in your room where you can see it, and when you are working out think about how great you'd look in it and how you've come so far and how you are almost there. if you are just looking to tone up, then go to the mall and find something really cute to use as an incentive, or ask your mom to pitch in and buy you a really cute pair of shoes or something that you can set as your goal- for instance if you want to lose 15 lbs then buy the shoes but hide them, only once you have reached your goal of -15 lbs can you have the shoes.

QUESTION:
Is this a good weight loss plan?
I'm meeting up with my boyfriend on August fifth, and I want to lose about fifteen/twenty pounds in that time.
My plan is to run for thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the evening (five days a week), plus I do about a hundred and eighty crunches before going to bed.
For my diet, I'm not going to change much. I eat a lot, but it's all healthy food, so I don't think that's bad. Plus I've given up soda and replaced it with water. I'm still a growing teenager (sixteen) so I don't want to stop drinking milk or cut down on any other dairy products.
What do you guys think?-

QUESTION:
Short period of time weight loss?
I am 235 and im a teenager. Obviously, I need help. I have been taking 1-3 30 hour walks each day and eating smaller portions of healthy food. Completely cut out any junk foods. I specifically want to flatten my stomach and make my butt look better. Really want to get rid of my big thighs and get rid of my arm flab. So basically, I need a really rounded diet and fitness plan. I am trying to lose a few pounds for a convention and for my entire life right now. Im ready to make a life change after flip flopping dieting. The con is in 5-6 weeks and I am going to be wearing a lower thigh skirt with heels (That will make me look a bit slender since they are 5' tall)-
ANSWER:
I agree with Robin W. You have been walking. That is a great start. Add some push ups to your routine and some crunches too. Those you can do with any extra equipment. Exercise is the only real way to loss weight without putting right back on. 5 weeks is not a long time for weight loss. There are several ways out there to lose weight fast by dieting but ARE going to be putting the weight back on. Yoga is a great way to tone and stay in shape. It had may other benefits too.
Set a short term goal and a long term goal.
Short term is 2 lbs per week. Daily walks. Daily weight lifting.
Long term is what weight do you want to be. What size dress do you want to fit in to?
Long term goal dates are subject to change based on life. Don't get discouraged.

QUESTION:
Losing weight in 2 months?
I'm 59 kg (130 pounds) and want to be 50kg (lose 20 pounds) within 2 months. I ate relatively well (although room for improvement), dance for 1 - 1.5 hours (on thursdays), for 4.5 hours on saturday, and I usually use the exercise bike most days, and I also do clinical pilates on Wednesday's for about 50-60 minutes. Any meal plans, diet suggestions/tips or references to any weight loss information that would work for a teenager would be greatly appreciated. I've found weight loss is really hard for me and desperately need that extra help! I want to lose it naturally and safely though, so I look healthy and fit.-
ANSWER:
Diet plan wise I suggest:
-eating good carbs; this is like oat meal, beans, dark rye bread. These carbs take longer to burn; thus making you feel full longer than if you were to eat white bread or sugary cereal or cookies/crackers
-eat alot of veggies and/or fruits whenever you are hungry and walking through the kitchen walk towards the fruit bowl and grab an apple, tangerine, banana, etc. I found for myself when watching my wait that I was too lazy to go to the trouble to make some snazzy healthy snack, but that's the good things about fruits! You can grab and go.-don't starve yourself; this leads to binge eating
-watch your calories; find an online calorie counter and find an average amount of calories you burn a day based on you BMI
-make a plan; a planned eating schedule may make you more likely to stick to it
-cut out sugary treats like cookies, ice cream, chips, juice(the non diets) etc; ask your parents to stop buying these things for at least a month so you can lose your taste for them
-switch to skim milk or almond milk(its good when refrigerated)
-Don't eat pass 7pm (this will help prevent you from putting on weight, but wont necessarily make you lose wait)
-chew gum
-drink water; sometimes when you feel hungry it's actually because you are thirsty
-when watching tv don't snack or if you are snacking only bring a small bowl with you of something like
pretzels-DO NOT DRINK SODA POP; this not only clears up your skin, but will result in less bloating, and drinkable calories
-don't cheat!!!!
-work out at least 30 minutes a day (walking is considered a work out), and try to have some days be more hard core (like your dancing)
-lift weights; do this like two or three times a week it could be the 5 or 10 lb ddumbbells this is a good
way to burn calories-if you choose to exercise by running/jogging do things in intervals like sprint a minute then jog a minute (burns fat really well)
-stretch every morning and before going to bed for a few minutes
*I know it's alot of stuff, but it's actually really easy to stick with once you get in the habit(the giving up sweets is the most difficult part in my opinion). I haven't had soda pop or 2% percent milk in 4 years, and I weigh less than I did as a seventh grader now!
seventh grade about 125 lbs....now I weigh 116 at 5'6" and I'm 16:)
You have to work out to keep your muscles toned or you'll end up looking frail and possibly develop cellulite. I think the average calories burned a day by a teenage girl is around 1500, and there are 3500 calories in one pound. So do the math after you figure out your personal average of daily burnt calories, and if you stick with it you could be losing at least a pound a week.

QUESTION:
How do I lose around 35 pounds over summer break?
I'm 5' 8" and 155 pounds, and I'd like to feel comfortable with my body for once when I enter high school. Is there a healthy, natural way to get anywhere between 115 and 125 pounds over summer break? I'm almost 14, so I can't afford a diet plan or a gym, and my parents think I'm a depressed, anorexic teenager if I even mention weight loss. So, I can't bring up Jenny Craig or anything else.No links to spam, please.
Thanks.

ANSWER:
Eating right is 80-90% of the solution. Eat 5-6 small balanced meals a day. Learn about "portion sizes," a young girl like you shouldn't worry about counting calories. For your workout...all you need is your own body weight. A good beginner workout is Turbulence Training. Look up "body weight workouts" and "4 week turbulence training" and that will get you on the cheap, fast track.

QUESTION:
how do i lose lovehandles?
so im a teenager girl, i wouldn't say im overweight, but i have a little bit of love handles and i would like to lose them by spring break or summer I just do not know how without taking a pill or anything. Do any of you guys have good weight loss tips, dieting tips, or exercise plans/ tips for me to follow? thanks-
ANSWER:
There are 3 things that determine ones physique:
- Exercise
- Rest & Recovery
- Diet
These are all very important.Nobody can out work an unhealthy diet. Stick to greens as much as possible and keep the carbs low. Check out the CKD diet, it's great.
When it comes to exercise, you'll want to do at least 20+ minutes of Cardio a session. Follow that up with a good ab workout. In and outs, crunchy frog, cross legged situps, hip rock and raise, obliques v-ups, etc.
good luck.

QUESTION:
What should I be doing to lose weight better as a teenager?
Hi, I'm just an overweight teenage nerd (as in I've spent my long weekend doing next week's math homework and watching/reading physics lectures), and I'm just looking for some weight loss help.I've tried multiple times in the past to lose weight, and I'm just going to give some examples of what I've tried to see if that helps anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'll also try to make a TL;DR at the end.
Last year was going to be my freshman year, and that summer I had hoped to lose as much weight as possible. It was my first real time truly trying, so I probably messed it up quite a bit. I had summer school gym at the end of summer, which was a month of 3-4hrs a day, 4 or 5 days a week, so I could get a gym credit. I thought that would be enough, so I just waited until then to start. I was trying my best to exercise and eat right, but I never noticed any change. From not noticing any weight loss, I pretty much gave up for freshman year, and planned to start next summer.
This year, over the summer, I spent the first month exercising probably 6days a week for 1-2hrs pretty rigorously at our local gym, at least more than at summer school. Over the course of this month, I once again barely noticed a difference, but my eating habits may be to blame, even though I tried eating healthier.
In the second month of summer, I fell out of going to the gym because I wanted to sleep-in past 9-10am, and my mom couldn't get me to the gym anymore. I was my normal lazy self that month, but towards the end of it I noticed that even though I hadn't been eating healthily I had lost a few pounds, which surprised me. I figured that I had to build muscle up, and after a while it would start to burn the fat. So now, I wanted to really get back to the gym, but I only got about a week in before we went on our family vacation, which pretty much destroyed any weight loss progress.
After the vacation, I got right back into the gym, and with school started now, I get gym in school for about an hour and then another 1-2hrs 3-5days a week.
Since the vacation, I've only been going to the gym for about 3weeks, but I still notice virtually no weight loss. I've only been able to lift 5-15 more pounds on the gym's machines, too.
At the gym I normally use the elliptical, at the highest level I can last for 20-ish minutes, the exercise bike, at highest level I can last for 20mins also (also doing spurts of extra fast pedaling), and the various machines the gym has for arms, legs, stomach, and back muscles.
My diet is quite poor at the moment, I don't enjoy most foods, and eat whenever I'm bored or not distracted. I still drink quite a bit of soda (diet coke and mt dew.), which I'd hope to stop drinking. But I also drink quite a bit of water, so if I can find a better way to transition, I'd be fine with water. I've heard of all the diet foods/pills that make you feel full, but never tried them because I assume they may not be health/not work.
Another thing that I thought may be the problem, is that after the gym, I normally spend my time browsing the internet or watching TV. I find sports to be pointless, so what should I do after the gym to not let it go to waste?
One last thing that I thought could be to blame, at least partially, was just family genes. My mom was average as a kid, but got more overweight into adulthood, and her side of the family is mostly skinnier. My mom's family also are gym fanatics, but still have relatively weak muscles (especially arms), compared to other people that go to the gym as much as they do. My dad's side is pretty average to skinny. I believe I may have gotten most of my mom's side's genes. =/
What else can do/consume that will help me? I know that exercising and eating healthy are the top things you can do for weight loss, but I'm having a hard time eating right, and I'm losing faith in excising even though I saw how it worked partially in the past.
TL;DR: I've tried to lose weight in the past by just exercising and eating healthier, but I was constantly hungry unless distracted, so it hasn't worked well, and going to the gym has barely built up muscles/helped me lose some weight. What else should I try to lose the weight?
Thanks!
I doubt it's a growth spurt, I've been very slowly growing for a while now. It's taken about 1.5-2yrs to grow an inch, but I'm hoping I will hit a growth spurt because I come from a tall family and have just been growing steadily but slowly.-
ANSWER:

ANSWER:
The MOST important thing is to eat naturally..without medicines, chemicals, "starving" your self etc.first, it would be best for you to eat as healthy as possible..this will also help you considerably to lose weight gradually and naturally..
eat fresh fruits, vegetables, drink plenty of WATER..avoid all cokes, caffeines, smoking, alchohol etc. as these also add weight as well as they contain chemicals which disturb your natural bio rythmns as well as brain chemistry. try not to eat too much meat, and the meat you should eat should be "lean meat" such as steamed chicken and rice, or steamed fish with rice..and vegetables,, this should be your staple diet rice and vegetables with fruits..AVOID "JUNK FOOD" and "Fast Food" as this type of food is very unhealthy, lacking in vitamins really and has plenty of fattening molecules which make one gain weight and is very bad for overall health.
if you snack,, try fruits with yogurt or fruit yogurt and nuts.. nuts are very healthy for your body .and contain proteins.
go for walks every evening or morning or whenever you get time each day for 1 hour or 2 hours..make this somewhere you enjoy walking even if you have to drive a bit to there..and make this a daily routine..you will enjoy it once you get into it ..and it makes you feel great after..just walking for 1 hour or 2 hours.
if you do this..every day for one month ..you should lose around 10 pounds (.714 stone) per month until you get to your natural healthy weight.. look up on the internet for an idea of what your weight for your height should be ..and when you get to this weight,,your body will look very nice and you will feel very good.
10 pounds (.714 stone ) each month in 3 months you should lose 30 pounds (2 stones, 2 pounds)..for sure...but no junk food and dont drink alcohol or smoke, dont eat junk..just healthy food with vitamins and walking 1 hour or 2 hours every day..and drink plenty of water..this is guaranteed way to lose weight naturally and for good, if you stick to this, which you should,,as it makes you feel so much more positive due to the vitamins and lack of chemicals making you feel depressed...
btw, forgot to mention,,just in case you dont know how to really make healthy meals..buy a "food steamer" at your local deparment store..they are very cheap and work very well..as well as buy a "rice cooker" which is also very cheap..eating rice is a great way to get your necessary carbs "healthy carbs" to lose weight and has lots of natural energy inside. you can buy asian rice at most large supermarkets or if you have a local oriental market..they sale quality asian rice.. thai or indian rice is good "jasmine rice".. buy corn or canola oil to sprinkle on vegetables or rice before steaming to add to taste as well as you can buy several nice spices like "cumin" or "Curry powders", etc.just sprinkle on the vegetables before steaming to give nice taste.
drink "Green Tea" as this is very healthy and helps burn extra fat faster...you can buy quality green tea at most oriental shops or large supermarkets as well

Try making you're regime more balanced, you need to add: healthyfat's, more wholegrain's, protein and more calcium/ dairy.
Try this:Breakfast:
Cup of wholegrain/ fiber cereal (ie: Raisin Bran or cup of Bran flakes with added 1/4 cup raisins)
Cup/ 250mL 1-2% milk
Serving of fruit ~ medium fruit, 3/4 cup berries, 1/2 cup canned fruit or applesauce or 250mL fruit juice.Lunch: Deli meat sandwhich or PB&J*
(Wholewheat breads/ wrap/ pita/ english muffin or bun with 3-4 slices lean lunch meat: turkey/ chicken/ ham/ roast beef or vegetarian alternative of sliced quorn meat with a slice of unprocessed cheese or 1/3 cup shredded with optional sliced vegetables inside and TBSP spread/ sauce: mustards/ hummus/ margerine/ vinagrette/ bbq/ hot sauce/ etc ..)
With a salad and 1/4 cup cottage cheese.
Or ..
(Wholewheat breads/ wrap/ pita/ english muffin or bun with 2TBSP natural nut butter and TBSP jam/ fruit preserve or honey and cinnamain with an optional sliced fruit inside of consumed seperately ~ sliced: banana, apple, 3/4 cup sliced strawberrys or 1/4 cup sprinkeled dried fruit's inside such as raisins/ craisins.)
Consume with either 250mL/ cup 1-2% milk or 3/4 cup plain yoghurt/ cottage cheese with a medium fruit/ fruit serving if not consumed inside sandwhich.Snack: Medium fruit and 2TBSP natural nut butter (if not consumed for lunch on sandwhich)
If consumed at lunch on sandwhich try a wholegrain/ fiber granola bar, pretzels, wholegrain/ fiber cereal or oat's, etc ..Snack two: 3/4 Cup plain yoghurt with added cinnamain/ honey or diced- dried or frozen fruit's (1/4 cup added fruit-), or 3/4 cup cottage cheese with diced vegetables or sliced ham peices inside or berries/ diced/ dried fruit's.
Dinner: 3-4oz Lean red meat/ lean pork/ chicken/ turkey or fish with 3/4 cup brown- long grain rice/ couscous/ quinoa or medium yam/ potatoe/ sweet potatoe with a salad and 1-2TBSP dressing/ vinagrette or 3/4 cup cooked vegetables in TBSP margerine- olive oil.

ANSWER:
this change is great and theres nothing wrong with what your eating. some tips are...
drink mainly water
dont eat anything with artificial sweeteners like Splenda, Equal, and Sweet n low. fake sugar actually reverses your bodies metabolism. fake sugar is mostly used in things that say 'zero calorie' or diet.
example- zero calorie coke or diet pepsi.
for exercise, gradually increase the time. dont stress yourself out the first time. and make sure to stretch before and after you exercise so you dont get lots of cramps and sore muscles

QUESTION:
How can i be healthier?
I am 16 and i weigh 115-120 depending on the day. Im about 5ft 6inches. Normal weight range would be atleast 128 but im happy with what i have. I do not want to lose weight and its practically impossible for me to gain weight because of my metabolism. Im always eating, and if im not i had a big snack which lasts me a few hours. Im not sure what diet plan(not losing weight just eating healthier) so that ill be more active. I also want to start doing stuff like bikeriding but i can never seem to get up the willpower to go out.
Is there any plans i could do without the weight loss and something flexible for a teenager? I also have school lunches which are plainly unhealthy from the fries to the nasty pizza and soda and i cant bring lunch because of how late it is by the time i get lunch. What do i do to avoid this temptation? I have to stay away from sugar because im so prone to urinary tract infections and yeast infections. What can i do to stay healthy and get pumped to do things?-
ANSWER:
When you're home, try eating ANYTHING from the Morning Star brand. It's all vegan food, but trust me, a lot of it's delicious. You would seriously never know it's vegan. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian, and I buy/eat some of their products regularly because I love how they taste so much. My favorites are the Chick Patties (great with honey mustard or ranch!), the Spicy Black Bean Burger, and the Garden Veggie Patties. They have tons of vitamins and are really, really healthy. The only thing is, they're pretty low calorie so in order to not lose weight you might wanna eat more than one, or as part of a meal that includes other things. They'll definitely help you be "healthier" in general though, very nutritious.

QUESTION:
Am i becoming anorexic? Please Help!?
I just wanted to know if i am starting to develop an eating disorder or not.
I am 5'6, 15 and weigh around 126lbs. I have lost 5lbs in the last few weeks. I want to be 90lbs desperately. I keep track of my calories in an online food diary and try my hardest to stick to under 800-1000 calories a day however i usually end up going around the 1150 calorie mark. I keep a journal filled with quotes, meal/diet plans, skinny models, self hate letters and more. There is also a powerpoint presentation on my laptop which i look at and update often. It is filled with diet rules, more photos, my weight loss goal and history, pro ana website addresses, diary entries and more. I hate my body and see fat a lot of the time. It's like there is two voices inside my head, one telling me not to eat, to lose 36lbs and be the skinniest person ever, and another one telling me you have to eat, your beautiful and healthy already. I also sort of want to be anorexic, i know that is cruel and horrible to say, but its true. I want to be hospitalized for anorexia because then i will have reached an enormous goal and i will be the envy of other girls. I weigh my self at least 2 or 3 times a day, and i am heart broken if my weight has gone up. I read and memorize nutrition labels, and have lists of safe foods and unsafe foods. I try not to eat much at school, but my friends will ask my why, i make up excuses, but i can't do that all the time. No matter what i eat, i feel guilty. My friends think i am sad all the time now as well. I guess i am sadder than i used to be, but i am happier at home. I am EXHAUSTED ALL THE TIME and feel like i have no energy, even though i get about 9hrs sleep a night. But that might just be because i am a teenager. I don't know what to do. I can't speak to anyone, because i don't think they will take me seriously. I mean, i'm still a perfectly normal weight. Please Help!!!-
ANSWER:
you kind of are. I almost became an anorexic because i hated how i looked and trust me it is HORRIBLE!. It is all you think about and it just takes your life away. you are always tired because you are not eating enough. You have to have at laest 1200 calories a day for your body to function properly. I will put some tips on here that are good for your body.here are some little tips but you haveeee to remember that weight loss doesnt happen overnight and to not push it.
try to limit pasta and white bread intake.
if you want something sweet, then try grapes and strawberries. you may be thinking ughh i have heard that a thousand times but it can really take that craving away.
at night turn your fan on or leave a window open. if you are a little cold, then your matabolism gets higher and you burn more calories because your body is working harder to keep you warm.
help out around the house. keeps you moving and burns calories.
switch regular chips for baked chips. to me they taste better and they have less fat and stuff
fruit smoothies with not a lot of sugar........mmmmmmm
at every meal dont drink ice cold water. drink room temperature water. cold water can stretch you stomach and then you will eat more.
take a sip of water after every bite. it feels u up a whole lot more and it tricks ur body into thinking it is food. and also water can stop some fat from being absorbed.
CHEW GUM ALL THE TIME! i hear if u r an extreme gum chewer you can lose up to 11 pounds a year. go for the sugarfree kind. and stride has a new kind that can change flavors so you dont get bored!
at parties dont walk around the food table. party foods are extremely unhealthy.
dont drink soda. not even diet. ask urself. do i really need that?
try kashi bars and fiber one bars. fiber is a good thing to have when u are trying to lose weight. it helps you to lose.
eat lots of fruit and vegetables. cold fruit tastes AMAZING after a good workout when you are hot and sweaty.
when you eat salad try to avoid lots of cheese and dont eat any crutons. they are loaded with calories.
swap ranch to italian dressing or vinagrette
dont get tricked by those fruit juices that claim they have real fruit in them. for instance, an orange has three grams of fiber so why doesnt orange juice have any?
laugh every chance you can. every time you laugh u burn a small amount of calories (2-5)
if u are DYING for chocolate then try chocolate covered seeds, some hersheys dark chocolate kisses( 20 cals. each), or dip some strawberries in melted dark chocolate.
( dark chocolate may taste bad but it is better for you and has all kind of anioxidants)the way your friends eat around you can influence how you eat, for example if they are all eating burgers and you just gonna sit there and eat vegetables? so be careful
ditch iceberg lettuce for romaine ( it has more nutrients )
it is getting hotter outside so go swimming. swimming laps is GREATTT for losing weight
i hope these helped you and other out there. good luck!

ANSWER:
Be careful with diet pills--I've had some bad experiences trying some of them. What I did find to work really well though was a natural supplement of Acai berry which I actually saw on Oprah and Rachel Ray. It was a while ago, but I ordered a free sample from http://ultraacaiberry.com/y/ and it's been great for helping increase my energy, metabolism, and keeping my body healthy! I've lost weight and I feel much, much better than I did when I was on the pills.

QUESTION:
Metabolism boosting pills... do any work or are they all a scam!!?
I have been trying to slim down now for over a year, and it's been a yo-yo effect no stop. I lose weight then gain back double back and forth. As a teenager I was always very skinny but after having two kids well those days are long gone. Recently I have been sticking to a good workout and diet plan but I don't seem to be losing much weight not like I have seen previously. I am beginning to wonder if my metabolism is the problem. I have been doing some research and have found out that a better metabolism creates better weight lose. Is this true?? Are there pills that can effectively boost the metabolism or are they all just scams, like most weight loss programs are??-
ANSWER:
Ephedra did work but it's now banned (wrongfully banned in my opinion). As a matter of fact, most effective metabolism boosting pills have been banned out of existence within the US and the only way to get them is through some shady dealings (pretend to have bronchial problems etc.).You can gain some minimal boosts in metabolism through what's left on the market but on a whole it won't do much for you. The remainder of the pills left on the market are based on green tea & acai berries which certainly are good anti-oxidants that contain health benefits but they aren't real metabolism boosters.
Are they worth the money? I don't think so. Eat about 3 bites less at dinner and you'll have the same effect.
Some of the stimulants contained in them can certainly shake you up and that leads to a placebo effect (I'm so wired that this must be working!) but you can get the same wired results by drinking tea, coffee or espresso all day.
Your metabolism is largely determined by the amount of lean body mass (muscle, tissue, bone etc.) you have in your body. In other words - muscles burn fat and calories. When you had the two babies you might have lost some muscle mass along with it since babies take a lot from our systems.
You really need to increase the amount of protein you eat when you are pregnant. I know my wife struggled with this with our kids. It's not that bad though - you can start doing resistance training & cardio together and get that lost lean body mass back very easily and your metabolism will be more like it was before the babies.
Your metabolism doesn't have to slow down as you get older if you keep up with the resistance training and eat a good solid amount of protein every day.
(believe it or not but protein is a metabolism booster - it has a high thermic value which means that your body has to expend energy to process it).

QUESTION:
I'm a Teenager and Wannabe Rower and am considering using some of those Vitamin Supplements?
Hey. Well currently I am a recently turned, 15 year old and am considering joining Rowing. Why I had an epiphany to row I am not sure and I still don't know what is compelling me to partake in it but I feel as though its the right thing for me to do. I wish to become a Rower, and... well to be more accurate I would like to make the A team (the highest division) by 4th term (leaving me with about 7 months for training). Currently I am 6"4 tall (taller than all of the rowers), 80kg, State Cross Country Runner and Swimmer and can bench press and perform more push-ups than anyone in the A team (85kg bench and 80 push-ups) and so I don't think its hard to see why I think I have a chance as a Rower. To reach my goal I am planning of spending the next 6 months under a specific regime to prepare myself for the Rowing at the end of this year. To maximize my efforts, I'd like to begin using those Vitamin powder/supplement things that body builders use (also I forgot to mention this but I actually do not share that buff appearance which should be present due to all my strength so I'd like to bulk up a bit). I have a few questions however regarding my Rowing Diet which I would like to have answered before I begin consuming these products:1. What sort of supplements should I be using to maximize strength gain, weight loss (higher metabolism), appearance gain (bulking up) and anything I can use to help improve my rowing? How much each day? When? How? and pretty much anything I have to be careful.
2. Are these products safe for teens? Will they cause any future Damage?
3. What can I do to compliment my intake to maximize results?
4. I have heard that many people generate a lot of acne when on this supplements, does this really happen and what can I do to avoid it?
5. Any safety issues I should be concerned with?
6. Exercises with or without weights that will improve my Rowing
6. And finally the pros and cons of using these supplements. Please provide anything else that you think I should know about concerning Rowing and Vitamin Supplements and please don't mention that technique is a major factor of rowing because I am planning on taking classes for it.
Thanks for reading my massive spiel and hopefully answering my question.
